PUBLIC SAFETY BUDGET MANAGER

$65,374 - $93,163

The City of Scottsdale is looking for someone to lead their Public Safety Budget office.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance/accounting with an emphasis in government budget management.  The ability to effectively communicate with all members of the organization; an acute political acumen to effectively partner with police and fire department staff to develop effective and strategic finance direction is essential.

Under the general direction of the Chief of Police, this position coordinates the development of the Public Safety Division’s (Police & Fire) operating budget, capital improvement program, grants and special revenue funds. 

Performs advanced professional level administrative duties for budgetary and financial activities as well as directing or participating in gathering information, making statistical analysis and studying and resolving special administrative problems.

 

Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Public or Business Administration, or a related field and five years professional-level experience in budget preparation, statistical analysis, accounting, auditing, or a closely related fiscal activity.  Must have one year of supervisory experience of professional staff.
